Traditional & Contemporary Teacher & Healer
|
Tammy Fournier is from the Commanda family of Nipissing First Nation who grew up in Timmins and in 1991, moved to Toronto. She comes from a line of hunters, gatherers and guides as well as medicine women on both sides of her mother's family. Her father's family gave her gifts from the British, Celtic and German cultures. Tammy is considered her family's medicine woman. Since the 1980's, she has had the privilege to help thousands of community members and people on Turtle Island (North America) understand and overcome pain on many levels.
Thanks to her own medicine bag of experiences and traditional background (from elders & healers) coupled with her experience as a Health, Fitness & Business Educator, Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Reflexologist, Tammy also incorporates her background in Body Centred Psychotherapy as well as Addiction Counselling into her approach. Some of her peers know her as a metaphysician who enjoys learning and growing along with everybody as she touches, moves and inspires through sharing her gifts of overcoming pain. People constantly say she approaches pain from a spiritual perspective, bringing uplifting relief and balance as they learn something new every time they meet with her.
Tammy is in the midst of documenting her gifts and experiences as well as some of the elders and healers she works with, through various media. Keep your eyes and ears open so you may see, hear or read some of the invaluable teachings.
